So here it is-- my first Instagram Food Roundup of the Month, where I will feature local food pictures culled from Instagram, highlighting both pro and amateur photographers. In my search for these, I realized just how many pictures of food were out there, and also just how many were blurry, dark, and nasty looking. These following pics stood out in part due to the fact that they not only did not look nasty, but also looked good. So take a look at these delicious looking DC meals and check out the photographers behind them on Instagram.
So Shake Shack DC and Gordy's Pickle Jar teamed up a week ago for a very limited-edition burger featuring the best of what both companies offer. Shake Shack brought to the table the bun, the famous patty, the cheese, the fried shallots, and the sriracha. Gordy's completed the RKO of your taste buds with their pickled Thai Basil Jalapeños. I was lucky to make it to the Dupont Shack before they were gone. I was glad that the triple-filtered water was free.
Taste of DC has come, and depending when you read this blog post, gone. Other than a couple of logistical problems on Saturday, it was another success. The crowds were big, the vendors really showed up making it a fun time. I went on Sunday for a couple of hours and took some pictures I wanted to share. Here they are.
So my friend went to Portugal and brought me back a bunch of Portuguese fish products including sardines and pâté. The tins and packaging were pretty awesome looking and word on the street is that European tinned fish is very stylish right now. Any way, I had all this tinned seafood, so I decided before eating it to stage a mini-shoot and take some pictures of it all.
